About Jim Pyfer

Jim Pyfer is a former Illinois State University Redbird, 4-year letter winner, with two decades worth of experience helping young athletes strive for more both on and off the field. Jim is driven to help athletes recognize their full potential. Jim is known for his grit on the field with a keen eye at the plate, high on base percentage, base running threat, and gunning runners from the outfield. Jim was the recipient of the Duffy Bass Scholarship at ISU for his hard work on and off the field. He was part of the 1994 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) champions and College World Series final 48 team at Illinois State University. Jim also helped win championships with the 1995 Central Illinois Collegiate League (CICL) Twin City Stars and the 1996 Northwoods League (NWL) Waterloo Bucks. Jim played for Jeff Stewart, current MLB scout for the Tampa Bay Rays at ISU and Eric Snider, current assistant coach for the University of Louisville and Waterloo Bucks. While at ISU, Jim was an All-MVC Honorable Mention ballplayer who still holds the single season hit by pitch record and various top 10’s in multiple other season and career categories. He brings more than 20 years of teaching, coaching, and recruiting experience, having worked with numerous baseball and softball athletes, organizations and programs throughout the Chicagoland area.

Jim has a blended family with Michele and their 9 kids and 3 dogs. That’s enough kids for their own baseball or softball team.
